The Zurcom team, based in eight countries across the region, has a wealth of experience working with companies directly and through governmental trade agencies toward successful company export sales. Zurcom has completed over 3,400 company projects, as well as over 80 governmental trade missions composed of company delegates in Africa. The team has been operational representing US state governments for trade and FDI since 1999. Their team is one of the worlds' most experienced in trade facilitation and a leader in assisting firms seeking entry to the African and global marketplaces.

Zurcom also assists firms entering the market through direct representation. Firms wishing to expand their presence in Africa or globally work through them from company registration to direct sales representation for results-based outcomes. Zurcom has represented Solatube Australia for six years, making Zurcom a practitioner in international trade, import/distribution, warehousing, administrative and dealer management.

Important clients include US state governments, South African provinces, the national governments of India, Netherlands, Germany, Singapore and Thailand as well as commercial firms, both large corporates and small family-owned firms. Zurcom is the authorized trade representative contractor for 5 US state governments in sub-Saharan Africa (Maryland, Michigan, New York, Virginia and Wisconsin).

Zurcom provides business development services across sub-Saharan Africa. Personnel are located in Pretoria and Durban, South Africa with staff in seven other countries: Ghana, Kenya, Mauritius, Mozambique, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Coverage is throughout almost all of sub-Saharan Africa, a geographical region three times the size of the continental U.S. Experienced trade advisory staff is multilingual in English, French, Portuguese, Swahili and other languages. Zurcom has experience in projects and trade missions in over 30 regional countries.

Zurcom has amassed a significant number of successes, from corporate assistance in large tender provision to small company first-to-market sales. Recommendations from at least ten American state governments are available upon request.

Member/Principle Biography:

Richard Zurba is the Director of Zurcom International (Pty) Ltd. He came to Africa in 1993 after working in commercial real estate in Canada. In 1993 he moved to the Congo for World Vision Relief, involved in humanitarian projects relating to ethnic cleansing and the Ebola outbreak responses. In 1996 he moved to RSA, as an export manager for a South African firm, selling into a wide number of sub-Saharan African countries. In January 1999, he opened the Council of Great Lakes Governors Southern Africa Trade Office in Johannesburg. He has lectured widely. Richard has work experience in over a dozen countries around the world. He has a B.A. (Alberta, International Relations), an M.A. (London School of Economics, International Relations / History) and an M.B.A. (Western Ontario, International Business).
