Company Description

Since 1995, Southbridge Consulting has provided market intelligence and international trade promotion services from Santiago, Chile. We support foreign exporters, trade promotion organizations, and economic development agencies seeking to expand into Chile and the broader Latin American market. Southbridge delivers customized services including partner and distributor identification, tailored market research, industry overviews, trade mission execution, and curated business-to-business (B2B) meeting programs. Our work is designed to move clients from initial market validation to practical next steps.

Southbridge currently serves as in-country consultant for multiple U.S. state export programs and government agencies, including the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) in Chile, the Maryland Department of Commerce in Chile and Peru, and Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) – International Trade in Chile, Peru, and Argentina. We also support projects connected to North Carolina through regional collaboration.

Southbridge Consulting is an active member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Chile (AmCham Chile), maintaining close ties to ongoing trade and investment developments in the market. As part of The Southbridge Group, we can also support clients beyond initial market entry through our affiliated corporate services capabilities when needed.

Principal Biography

Bárbara Prado serves as Market Research and Business Intelligence Manager at Southbridge Consulting and leads the firm’s trade promotion and market intelligence assignments for international clients entering Chile and Latin America. She acts as the primary point of contact and day-to-day project lead, coordinating research, partner identification, and B2B meeting programs for visiting companies and delegations.

Bárbara has extensive experience supporting economic development organizations and exporters with tailored business development programs, with a focus on combining solid research with practical execution—getting the right meetings set, aligning expectations with market realities, and ensuring follow-up is structured and effective.

She is also active in the international business community through AmCham Chile, where she participates in committee-level discussions and networking that support trade facilitation and international business development.
